2011 JFFA Poster Contest

Are you a designer, an artist, or just plain creative?  We need a poster for the 2011 Juan de Fuca Festival, and this year, we’ve decided to open up our poster selection to our community!

The goal is to create a poster around JFFA.  What does this mean to you?  Use your imagination and creative talents to create a visual theme around music, community, the Olympic Peninsula, or whatever inspires you and relates to JFFA.

Our mission:  The Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts (JFFA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop, promote, and present performing and visual arts for the cultural, educational and economic benefit of the communities of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.

Specifications

• Finished poster should be scaled to 11” wide  by 14” tall
• Fine art, photography, graphic art, etc. are all accepted forms for submission
• One of the following may be included in the submission:
  • 2011 Juan de Fuca Festival
  • Juan de Fuca Festival 2011
  • 18^th Annual Juan de Fuca Festival
• Submissions should be in .gif or .jpg format, no larger than 5MB file size and uncompressed
• Please do not submit original fine art for judging (an 11”x14” photographed or scanned file or print is acceptable
• Resolution should be 300 dpi for digital submissions
• Let’s keep it clean; offensive or inappropriate submissions will be refused

First Place Winner will receive $200 and TWO 4-day Festival Passes

Deadline:  All entries must be received by Friday, February 11, 2011

Performer applications for the 2011 JFFA Festival are available online now on the JFFA website.    The performer application deadline is January 21, 2011.

2010 FallFest {The List of Auction Goodies}

We’ve mixed things up a bit this year, but we’re still planning for a fun and exciting evening of food, drinks, exciting auctions, a delicious dessert dash, and music by Westerly!

FallFest Fundraiser {Early Bird Discount}

Thank you all for supporting this year’s Festival!  Even though the weather was a little dreary, the performances and people coming together for this year’s event were outstanding!

Discount tickets for our FallFest Fundraiser were available at the Festival, but some of you may have not been aware of this opportunity.  We have decided to extend the Early Bird Discount for tables through the month of June! 

This year’s event will be a fun event featuring an exciting live auction, great silent auction items, hearty appetizers, a delicious dessert auction, and dancing to live music by Westerly!

This fundraiser is an important event for us; it enables us to continue putting on a first-class Festival, concert series throughout the year, and the popular and successful educational programs we promote and provide for our schools!

2010 FESTIVAL: Pearl Django

Entering their fifteenth year, Pearl Django continues to be one of America’s most respected and busiest Hot Club style groups. Influenced by the music of Django Reinhardt, Peral Django’s repertoire reaches out across the divides of taste to a wide variety of audiences, including lovers of world music, bluegrass, and jazz aficionados of the new swing. Pearl Django packs in enthusiastic audiences at dance halls and nightclubs, and music festivals throughout the U.S.

Pearl Django will be performing Saturday, May 29th at 2:45 pm and 7:00 pm on the KONP Elks Stage!

2010 FESTIVAL: Paul Chasman /Terry Robb Guitar Duo

Terry Robb

Chasman helped found the well known Acoustic Guitar Summit which also featured Terry Robb, and in which they performed for 9 years to sold-out concert halls.   Paul melds jazz, classical, blues, bluegrass, folk, ragtime and rock with simply astounding harmonics techniques. Terry is considered one of the top acoustic blues guitarists on the West Coast. It is a rare occasion to have these two outstanding musicians on stage at the same time.

Paul Chasman and Terry Robb will be perfoming Friday, May 28th at 6:30 pm on the Main Stage and Saturday, May 29th at 5:15 pm on the Chamber Stage!
